Re: Lock Screen broken on new installs

It shouldn't be the case. It's believed to be an upstream issue, but there is a hack that some of us have done.

Edit: I was only aware of this being an issue for kde

Re: Wine DXVK and Sabayon

It doesn't look there's any simple solution that I can see. Hopefully someone experienced who's actually attempted this can shed more light on either how to do it, or what blockers there currently are.

Re: Minimal Fluxbox install stops at blinking cursor

Maybe you do. The website says: "Intel® HD Graphics 3000 or AMD Radeon HD 6470M "

both brand gpus should be well supported out of the box from open source drivers.

Re: Minimal Fluxbox install stops at blinking cursor

Hmm, none that I can think of. The Asus x44H has an AMD GPU, so I wouldn't expect that to cause you any problems. When you get to that blinking cursor, can you hit ctrl + alt + F1 and get to a terminal?

Re: Abaout this forum

That first thread you posted is quite old (2008). It's not very surprising that the link isn't correct. But, it does appear that wiki is not maintained concerning community repos. I'm afraid there is no great solution for what you're looking for at the moment. It seems as though: https://wiki.sabayo...

Re: Fresh install issues

Firefox 61 dictionary also broke for me. But my systems locale has no problems. [email protected] ~ $ localectl System Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8 VC Keymap: us X11 Layout: us I think there's a dictionary issue with Firefox 61, see https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=900469 https://forum.man...

Re: reset kde to default?

You can always blow away your ~/.config (or better yet, rename it to be like ~/.config_backup), but it will remove any and all custom config you have for that user, more than just even kde config.

Re: Fresh install on existing partition [Solved]

I actually used Arch for a while on my laptop. Their documentation is great, as is their AUR. However, I had system breakages from just doing standard upgrades (unable to boot DE, unable to mount encrypted root). Asking about those breakages on their forums generally yielded a hostile response. I do...

Re: Fresh install on existing partition

I've honestly never had great luck with using the partition managers in the installers. I've always used GParted to delete create a partition to use and then use the installer create and install.
