Re: entropy require glibc, portage, entropy update

Upgrading glibc requires that all packages compiled against it are updated, there's no way around it. Your safest bet is to simply let it upgrade.

Re: Extremely frustrated new user after updates

@joost we might want to check that sabayon-weekly is still the default upon installations. Not only was it not the default on one of my more recent installs, but sabayon-weekly configurations don't even exist in /etc/entropy/repositories.conf.d/ only sabayonlinux.org and sabayon-limbo.

Re: Authorization failed on locked screen [Solved]

I am using SDDM on both of my systems. Although does the DM actually come into play for KDE's lock screen?

Re: Authorization failed on locked screen [Solved]

I still run into this problem with every KDE upgrade (I didn't do the cron job, assuming this was going to be fixed by upstream at some point).

Re: Static IP

Generally, whether you have a static IP or not to the rest of the world is up to your ISP, not you. Instead what most of us do is get a free domain and run a service that updates the domain so it always has the right ip. Then we just connect to that domain.

Re: Kernel Switcher broken?

yep, I'm seeing the same thing. Looks like a newly introduced regression. Did you file a bug report?

It also breaks the switching functionality because it can't find the kernel when you attempt to switch to it (which makes sense because it's probably using the same kernel list mechanism).

Re: Budgie

I don't believe so. Ironically, it looks like maybe it is in the portage overlay that Sabayon maintains, but it is not in entropy. It is not in the main portage tree, and generally we do our best to stay as close to the Gentoo portage tree as possible. But if you dare venture into the world of porta...

Re: Wayland problems

KDE Wayland doesn't work nicely with nvidia proprietary drivers. KDE X11 works fine.

Re: Wayland problems

I can't say, I don't have Optimus. But I can say that KDE doesn't play nice with nVidia proprietary. But KDE shouldn't be deciding which graphics you're using, rather it simply uses what your system is configured to use. So logging out and logging back in wouldn't allow KDE to switch graphics stacks...

Re: Wayland problems

Are you using proprietary drivers? I'm pretty sure kwin_wayland doesn't work with nVidia proprietary drivers (there's a lot of politics as to why that you can google if you're curious).
