Re: Does sabayon support deepin desktop?

Not directly no. There is a Gentoo overlay you could try to use to install it, but you won't be able to get any official support. Sabayon generally provides pre-compiled Gentoo packages. By having one server compile them all, the packages have a guarantee to be compatible. However, since they are al...

Re: new pc new innstall no cd

Yes it does, but sudo and su - have slightly different behavior and most guides for Sabayon/Gentoo are going to refer to doing things as root or superuser the standard Gentoo way. Rather than explain the intricacies of why you might want to do one over the other, I thought it best to simply lay out ...

Re: new pc new innstall no cd

@ArchitS, for Ubuntu, there was still the concept of elevated privileges. If you happen to look at bash/terminal commands, you'll find in ubuntu they will have things like $ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get upgrade The 'sudo' part of that says "do this as the superuser". In Gentoo/Sabayon, instead...

Re: Why isn't there Application software app like in Ubuntu or etc? How do i get it?

Yep, just as joost said, you can use Rigo which is a GUI (Graphical User Interface) around entropy (Sabayon's package management system). You will find that when you ask for help though, you'll mostly get terminal commands. It's much easier to say "Type this exact thing" then it is to say "look for ...

Re: How do I connect to wifi wirelessly on Sabayon?

What flavor did you install? KDE, GNOME, something else? Generally there are easy to follow GUIs in either of those, just like you'd have in Ubuntu.

Re: How to get discord on Sabayon gentoo?

Ok, so you are extremely new to linux. To get superuser access you need to do this: $ su then type in your superuser password. You'll notice after you log in the '$' will turn into '#'. Technically 'su' stands for switch user, but when you don't give it any parameters you switch to root (aka super u...

Re: How to setup the locales? [Solved]

The folder.d/ convention is something that can commonly be found as a way to organize config files. Putting all configuration into 1 file is often problematic, so instead you split config into multiple files and put it under <relevant>.d/ Not everything works that way (the application has to support...

Re: DBUS creates endless processes

You might need to reach out to warsaw developers. You could also look into running warsaw in a docker container to isolate it.

Re: Equo ImportError

Sabayon has gone through some pretty rough transitions over the past 6 months. Honestly, if you're in a position to wipe and re-install the OS, that would be your best option.
