Re: Updated today and now fails to boot

Same problem, last update broke Sabayon, now won't boot. Been running fine for months. Don't have a seperate home partition so not much to do but reload with 11 started with Sabayon X. Also have Ati video board and AMD cpu.

Re: Typing in Sabayon

In IBus which is where I would switch it over in a Ubuntu based distro I can find no options under input method to change or even to add a different keyboard layout. I have it open but the selections are not there and I haven't found any other program or setting to add them to the system. Which is S...

Typing in Sabayon [Solved]

Why doesn't Sabayon have the same setup as other Linux distro's when it comes to changing over to Dvorak or Colemak. I've been looking for a typing style to try out that uses less of the little finger than most and found that in my most stable distro ( Sabayon ) they want to make it harder to try th...

Re: Setting up SSD with discard on Sabayon [Solved]

I found a page with a general way to set discard and ended up with this - ( /dev/sdc2 on /home type ext4 (rw,noatime,discard,commit=0) ). But if anyone can add to the setting up of a ssd feel free to do so. The page I found the answer on was - http://techgage.com/article/enabling_and_testing_ssd_tri...

Setting up SSD with discard on Sabayon [Solved]

I just installed Sabayon 9 on a 120gb ssd, I had it on a HD and was running fine but would like to keep it on the ssd if I can. I have a Debian distro on another 120gb ssd and know how to set trim on it but Sabayon is a different thing, what works for one won't work for the other. I've had no luck f...

Re: Sound in Sabayon 9

The new sound card fixed the problem, they must have taken out the support in the new kernel for my very old sound card. I installed a Sound Blaster and now have sound from the live disk Sabayon 9. Will go ahead and install to 120gb SSD Vertex 2 when I get the new adapter for it.

Re: Sound in Sabayon 9

I have ordered a Sound Blaster audio card, maybe its just time to upgrade a couple of things. The card I have been using is very old, just may not be up to the newest kernel. Will see in a week.

Re: Sound in Sabayon 9

This is the lsmod from the live disk of Sabayon 8, totally different but I don't know what it all means as far as sound in #9 not working. Anyone else having sound problems with the new release?
Wait I didn't do it as root does that make a difference? I'll go back and do it again.
