Re: No .vimrc file

Hi thirdeye, you can have a look at some example online and just copy the parts you like to your (newly created) .vimrc Here are some templates on GitHub: https://github.com/VundleVim/Vundle.vim/wiki/Examples My .vimrc looks like that: " Features {{{1 " " These options and commands enable some very ...

Download previous versions of Sabayon

Hi all, I would like to install Sabayon on my new desktop computer within an encrypted LVM. I realized that the latest installer Calamares doesn't have this feature yet. So I'm looking for an older version whose installer lets me do that. The mirrors I searched so far have only the latest release av...

Re: Not quite sure what to put package.mask

Hi sabayonino,

thanks for the quick response. It was very helpful as it cleared things up. Now I understand the syntax. Might be helpful to add a few comments in the example file on how it works for future releases of Sabayon, so newbies like me find it easier to handle the distribution.

Not quite sure what to put package.mask

Hi all, after purging my system from unneeded libraries and packages not in the repositories anymore, I realized that I miss some packages. I overlooked that they would be removed as well. Among is the nice quick launcher tool called gnome-do . This is no longer maintained in the entropy store, but ...

Ear phone jack not working [Solved]

Hi all, after a very long time with everything working very well on Sabayon, I encountered a hardware problem today after upgrading my kernel from 3.14 to 4.3 All of a sudden the ear phone jack isn't working anymore. I reverted back to older kernel versions (back to the original one 3.14, but tried ...

Re: Downgrade OwnCloud-client to previous version

Thanks for your quick response. The version 1.8.1 didn't work on Windows and Mac (I know they are not Linux), and to me it seemed that it is a cross-plattform issue why synchronisation always breaks off. In my repos only version 1.8.0 is available, so I guess I would have to enable the Limbo reposit...

Downgrade OwnCloud-client to previous version

Hi all, I noticed that after the upgrade to the latest package of owncloud's desktop version (1.8.0) in the entropy store, the file synchronization with the owncloud server constantly interrrupts after down- or uploading a few MBs. I had the same issue with the latest client version on Windows on Ma...

Re: LVM installation

Are you using the daily/monthly ISO image for the installation? From personal experience and from the posts on Sabayon's Facebook page, the newest version of the Anaconda installer is causing serious issues during the installation process. Have you tried using the 'old' 14.01 ISO image and then upgr...

Re: No wired network connection but wireless

For the time being things work, so I'm fine right now, but I have found dead sure way to get an IP address via the wired interface. Leaving wireless turned on, receiving an IP over the wifi, then turning it off. Still, that somehow feels like a not so quick and rather dirty workaround.
