Re: Is sabayon-weekly repo secure?

The weekly repo is updated on Saturday night normally with all updates, security or otherwise. Occasionally there has been an update on another day but not that often, so yes, the weekly repo is normally a few days behind the main repo.

Re: Update this morning killed video

Hello, you might need to mention which repo(s) you are using as there were no updates today to the weekly repo, the one recommended to use?
Also, how did you install the kernel? I don't think it would have updated from 3.7 - 3.8 without you manually installing it via kernel-switcher or another means.

Re: Unable to logout/reboot/shutdown

Hi, glad the main problem is solved. For the panel issue I don't know. Maybe check the KDE site to see if it is a known bug & if not, file a bug there and here just in case it is a sabayon issue. For now you could use the icon only task manager widget in the panel, you might not see thegproblem then.

Re: Unable to logout/reboot/shutdown

When I did the update on Sunday using the weekly repo there were maybe 8 or so packages which it said to manually remove. As normal I removed them as follows: #equo remove package1 package2 package3 --nodeps --configfiles --ask Normally when updating kde or running a huge update like that I tend to ...

Re: rigo totally nuked my system! reverse dependency removal

I had 5 items I think to remove after todays update, which I always do like:

Code: Select all

equo remove package1 package2 package3 package4 package5 --nodeps --configfiles --ask
Personally I never use rigo for anything.

Re: Can't install sabayon 8

Normally releases are every 3 - 4 months, see the press releases forum. However, if I were installing from fresh now I would use one of the daily ISO's (which are updated weekly  ), it would be much quicker.

Re: XFCE: cd burner missing in latest spin

Personally I would stick with Xfburn & just use growisofs if you wanted to burn a video dvd which Xfburn cannot do:

Code: Select all

growisofs -dvd-video -udf -Z /dev/sr0 ~/tmp/MOVIETITLE

Brasero will more than likely pull in a lot of gnome.
