Re: polkit and NetworkManager permission denied

As a work-around I had to: - plug in Android phone via USB - turn off data connection on the phone - connect to the WiFi network - enable USB tethering Basically USB doesn't need the permissions so we can use the phone as a WiFI dongle this way. Now... I can't remember where to read those equo messa...

polkit and NetworkManager permission denied

I'm getting permission denied (error 34) trying to use NetworkManager but I updated last week. I can't update now as I have no network connection! But I think it's already up to date anyway. Certainly equo conf update I've tried. Related to: https://forum.sabayon.org/viewtopic.php?f=52&t=29849&p=162...

SysRq key

Sometimes I try to reboot and I get a freeze at trying to umount the LM volume. So I try SysRq+r,s,e,i,u,b but only 'i' responds with `changing runlevel`. This sounds like a userspace config... seems strange to disable that emergency umount... did Gentoo deem it a security risk? (and losing data see...

Re: no GUI after screen lock

probably offtopic but,
try see if it does the same with xlock and xfce.

I find xfce qt apps (qt4?) tooltips and menus open on the other monitor and also if you lock the screen the 2nd monitor is still shown but that's considered a feature... I just need to find how to disable that feature...

Re: Maximizing Terminal causes Xorg crash

sorry don't want to get your hopes up that I can help as I'm useless but you could confirm that fglrx is the problem by trying a vanilla x driver (sorry can't remember the syntax)

Re: NetworkManager key not saved

Hi again Fitz :-) I'm using XFCE so the keyring manager doesn't have the same dialogs as the gnome keyring/settings dialog to use that fix. This has been an epic learning foray; pam, xfce, keyring manager, networkmanager, wicd, debian buglists, arch forum posts... :D I think my best bet to try now m...

locale error - gtk &LC_ALL=en_US.UTF-8 [Solved]

I'm still getting that locale error which should have been fixed by exporting to profile (have run source /etc/profile) Besides... I need a UK locale really. Belated bug: [email protected] ~ $ autokey-gtk-2.7 (process:19016): Gtk-WARNING **: Locale not supported by C library. Using the fallback 'C' loca...
