Re: I've just installed latest updates, no KDM [Equo Failure

Annoying. Tried to install "kde-meta-4.9.3" and kept equo complaining about "can't read TMPDIR". I give up until this get fixed.

Re: I've just installed latest updates, no KDM

No. No kernel update. I know about that problem you had... I had it too. But now I'm with the 3.5 kernel, an NVIDIA GT520, but everything seems alright, no system complaint about it. It's like something broke at updating... Now I'm writing this, I tried to log in, it seems X is not starting at all.....

I've just installed latest updates, no KDM Equo Failure

First I had problems with filesystem in my root partition, which caused a failed update because equo couldn't read /tmp... I did fsck'd my root partition and continue with update successfully. But now, when I reboot KDM doesn't load at all. I have checked all logs and nothing seems to be causing the...

Re: KDE Desktop freeze

Have you tried to backup your dotfiles at "/home/your_user/"? You can do this loging in text mode, then trying to loging in graphical mode with cleaner configs. Something in your configs may be doing the mess. I suffered this with no luck since SL8, so I had to do a fresh install. Sometimes my deskt...

Re: XFCE Desktop as normal user

It happened to me when I installed XFCE and kept my config files in my /home. The "default session" looked for the KDE session and when not found sent me back to login screen. Changing the session at login screen would help.

Re: Kwin Overloads CPU After Updates

That was happening to me some updates ago. What is happening sometimes it's that kwin starts sucking processor, so I do a reboot and everything's ok. It may also have to do with nepomuk, because when I was suffering this I notice notifications were getting stuck by cause of nepomuk eating proc, and ...

Re: Java

Oops, looks like I missed a setting for user specific or system wide. Try: # eselect java-vm set system 4 Or possibly: # eselect java-vm set system icedtea-bin-7 Unfortunately, I'm not at my PC right now to verify which Thanks, camelinahat. It worked :) Later for it to run the browser plugin: esele...

De esa manera te salen ya las actualizaciones pendientes. Esperemos que con esta se resuelva el clavo de Magneto (aunque sólo sirva para avisar).

Java

I've just installed java (my system up-to-date with kernel 3.3), but when I try to run a simple app, or do a simple "java" command, it returns: [email protected] ~ $ java * Home for VM 'sun-jdk-1.6' does not exist: /usr/lib/jvm/sun-jdk-1.6 * Invalid System VM: sun-jdk-1.6 Never used java before in SL...

Re: Removal of libnl-1.1-r2, Dependencies Too?

Guess you have SL7. Equo asked me the same after an upgrade, but it shouldn't be safe to do. I don't know what is the problem. It happened the same in my desktop with Gnome, I did and my system broke. A complete disaster. in the other installation with KDE asked me to manually remove those packages....
