Re: PXE Boot Sabayon 2013

After on and off playing to get something to work, I've managed to PXE boot the Sabayon XFCE image (15.03). I still have some work to do figuring things out and properly documenting but since that all takes time here's the Cliff's Notes version so anyone else who would like to, can. I used genkernel...

Re: systemd -- static network IP(s) for headless server

I have something similar using NetworkManager (I miss ifnet). I have found out my reboots are messing up my routing table, information on manually configuring routes is a little tricky as I'm not that familiar routing tables. That being said, here are my files for NetworkManager. May be a start for ...

Sabayon From Scratch

I am looking for some information on how Sabayon is built from Gentoo. I want to help with development (particularly systemd-love) but am also doing some fun stuff with molecule. I figure if I want to do it right I should start from the ground up and to do so replicate the setup at home. In particul...

Contributing to Sabayon & systemd

I was looking at this topic, http://forum.sabayon.org/viewtopic.php?f=54&t=30260 , and was wondering what I can do to help with the progress of Sabayon Linux. Obviously monetary donations are a given but those who would like to contribute may not necessarily be able to. Are there other aspects of Sa...

PXE Boot Sabayon 2013

Howdy all, Backstory: I have 10 computers at home running Sabayon and I have spent the past couple of weeks really digging in to molecule and custom configurations which has been pretty awesome to say the least. As a perpetual breaker of systems, I reload more often than is necessary but I like to b...

Re: Network Manager / NFS [Solved]

I found my problem. The problem lies in /etc/Networkmanager/dispatcher.d/01-netmount-up-down.rc. When the interface goes down (in my instance when it renews, the command umount -at ${net_fs} -l is run. This is what is unmounting my nfs share. The up command is supposed to restore which is doesn't. F...

Re: Network Manager / NFS

I do have them set up statically. It's possible there might be a configuration issue since I'm running a dhcp server on my Gentoo box which is my all-in-one router/server/firewall... but the one thing that bothers me is that everything worked fine with Ubuntu. Not to say that I haven't seen things w...

Re: Network Manager / NFS

I'll give it a shot when I get back home to my own network (sometime next week). I wouldn't think the couple of seconds that a dhcp renewal takes would cause nfs to vanish without any indication but I will try it and post what I've found.

Re: Network Manager / NFS

I've been fighting with this all day today. I have set my dhcp lease to 5 minutes so I can watch it crap out. So my background goes out and I can't start Firefox anymore. I remount the nfs and every time it renews I no longer lose my nfs. So it would seem that only the initial renew causes issues. I...

Re: Network Manager / NFS

Another update. I disabled the plugin "ifnet" in /etc/NetworkManager/nm-system-settings.conf based on a topic I found in the Gentoo forums. No luck. IP renewed and cut the connection to NFS. What bothers me is there is no message saying that the share is being unmounted. I have the options set to ha...
