Re: Installing Kubuntu, Vista and Sabayon on same HD

I use ext3 for my data partition and use an IFS driver to allow Windows to read and write it.

Works well for me. Don't both with FAT32, it's a horrible file system.

3.4 mini x86-64 installs KDE along with Fluxbox?

I just tried to do a 3.4 mini edition install and chose the Fluxbox desktop to get a minimalist base to build from. Upon rebooting I noticed that KDE was installed as well. It seems that the Fluxbox and KDE installs on the mini version are exactly the same, was this intentional or a mistake?

Re: Suggestions for future versions of Sabayon

Just to be clear, I'm not advocating less hardware and language support. Sabayon's extensive hardware support is probably its best feature. I'm saying that after the hardware detection is done, packages should be installed for the detected hardware only. If I have an nvidia video card, I don't need ...

Re: A replacement for Firefox.... Swiftfox

I prefer Firefox... and with Portage, you can recompile FF to be optimized just like Swiftfox. Switfox is kinda pointless on a source-based distro like Sabayon.

Suggestions for future versions of Sabayon

First off I want to say that I'm really enjoying my experience with Sabayon and Gentoo. Fits right in with my tweaker mentality. :) I have a couple of suggestions that I like to throw out for the next version. Maybe others can chime in if they agree or think I'm off base. I really appreciate the lat...

Re: Performance,Sabayon 3.4e, x86

I would suggest turning off Compiz and see if that helps. Sounds like the problems are graphics related.

Re: phpBB 3.0 update in progress

The "View New Posts" feature hasn't worked correctly since the upgrade. I have set a time zone in preferences. In order for the last visit time to be updated I have to logout, then log back in. This defeats the convenience of using a cookie to remember your logged in status across sessions.

Re: Performance,Sabayon 3.4e, x86

Can you describe the performance issues further? Hard to suggest solutions when we don't have details. Your system should be capable of running the full Sab DVD install with KDE with no problems, so there must be something else going on that's causing your performance issues.
