When the machine is able to boot from USB, you could also install a boot manager to the mbr of your external hd. A method to boot into an ISO-image I don't know. Usually it should be a proper installation, although there might (or will) be some differences. Make sure you have your data backed up bef...

It might be helpful to know more about "the other distro". Perhaps its kernel is compiled without reiserfs-support. Anyway, check the other-distro-entry in /etc/lilo.conf of the other distro for the appendix. Install grub to mbr from the Sabayon-DVD. If you have problems in booting the other distro,...

Sorry, I've got no other idea. Install Grub from LiveCD/DVD, as wolfden says, but check your lilo.conf for appendices the other Linux might need.

I always had problems installing 64bit-Sytems, be it debian or gentoo. Anytime I tried, I ended up using 32bit-versions with much less efforts. machine: ath64, k8t800pro, 6600gt, currently installed: 32-bit PCLOS and 32bit Sabayon (OK, and Bill's I must admit) You will need BIOS(es) which properly b...

DSL-boot floppy is DSL-specific. It looks for the kernel, init etc. from DSL. Could work with a bit of tweaking which is far too advanced for me (up to now). The grub-on-floppy method might work fine. Probably a live-cd like SysRescCD also offers options to boot the USB-drive (at least it does for H...

Hi, Leute!

Get Cinerella working, anything else isn't worth a try if we speak of real (advanced, semipro...) video editing.
LiVES could be an easy to use alternative, I've never tried. But as far as I know it can only deal with DV.
