Can't start mysql

I have read other posts on this forum, in the Gentoo forum and atrchlinux forums but none seems to fit. I have brand new and updated spinbase install and installed mysql with equo. I did cp "/usr/lib64/systemd/system/[email protected].service" /etc/systemd/system/mysqld.service which appeared in various post ...

Cant install gcc

I guess I'm missing something very basic here:

Code: Select all

equo install gcc
☛ !!! No match for gcc in repositories.
☢ No packages found.
Brand new Spin Base 64 bit installation for server pruposes, updated and upgraded.

Has somebody a pointer for me?

Thanks,
Rainer

Re: Downgrade to xorg 1.12 and protect against upgrade [Solv

I'm mixing sabayonlinux.org and frozen 11 by only installing Xorg-server and the corresponding input drivers from frozen, the rest keeps rolling. Are you using frozen alone, or the way I do? I'd love to update all the other stuff (especially KDE, here particularly KDE PIM...) but how do I do that? ...

Re: How to boot into the right version of Sabayon with GRUB2

Thanks, anomaly65 - but grub was installed and was working well, except that I could not set the default choices. In the meantime, following the link provided by Fitzcarraldo, I was able to solve my default choice problem, GRUB_DEFAULT=saved did the trick. Probably I should set up a separate topic b...

I have Sabayon X where there is this two stage selection process to get to the desired Sabayon kernel version, first the screen with only two choices (Boot Sabayon or Select Special, in short words. Re: Downgrade to xorg 1.12 and protect against upgrade ok no

After getting in trouble again with my attempt to continue using current versions, I followed ElDuderino's advice and used the frozen repository. Works almost perfectly well, so I kkep my machine at this state as long as it lives!
