I am having idendical problems: Radeon x1600, X crashing on restore from minimized. I'm fairly new here. how do I upgrade or even downgrade my version of xorg-server when it's not in the main repo? this would be a good learning experience if someone would walk me through software version manipulatio...

Re: netatalk / avahi in Entropy?

amendment:

of course avahi and avahi-daemon are installed already. in previous distros, I would fetch avahi with netatalk and so grouped them in the post.

netatalk (AFP) is the service I am interested in.

netatalk / avahi in Entropy?

I use a couple of macs and apple phones in my home network. the easiest way for my to move simple files and to graphically broadcast my Linux services to others here has always been through the netatalk protocol with avahi-deamon. will these packages ever be available in Entropy? though I had used G...

External Bootable Backups

Hi, Former Apple fanboy, using Sabayon with much delight. It took some time to get a good Sabayon install on my Macbook (no OSX partition). However, I'd like to test drive freeBSD and others that have no live cd. My question is: what software is best to make a bootable, system-wide backup /clone of ...

Re: File Sharing [Solved]

When I was using OSX on the machines, I merely enabled FTP sharing and all machines played nicely. I have FTP enabled on the main (OSX) machine, but the Macbook running Saybayon doesn't seem to see it in network palces. Likewise, I enabled screen sharing in the SabayonBook with a program (I don't ha...

lsof Broken [Solved]

I am new to Linux, but fairly comfortable with UNIX like commands as a long time Mac user. This may seem as odd to you as it is to me, but in troubleshooting my sound after installing Sabayon x86 on an intel Macbook, I found that 'lsof' is not recognized in the terminal. "Command not found" is the r...
