OK. Yes, well, thank you! :) If it could be handled with documentation it would be nice, but unfortunately we are dealing with some really bad choices. Which granted could be from Gentoo, but I doubt it. Too glaring. As it is I have a distro that I put together. The distro building business is one t...

That's funny! Offer my help when you cannot even get replies to rudimentary questions like Where is the approved video card list. Besides I am offering help. Of course it's a growing distro. But at 3.3 I'd expect a bit more. As it is it really should be pre 1. It all would have been OK if things wer...

Yes, the initial response to Sabayon was "WOW!!!" But the more I use it the more I find broken. I don't know what's up with not having a full support of man pages for example. The cornerstone of all Unices has always been man pages. But for some reason Sabayon is sloppy about them. The idea behind S...

Network Manager Corrupts Network

This is a flawed product that should be fixed or removed. It kills the dns settings by removing the search option in resolv.conf. Why anyone would even think of doing that is beyond me. First it configures the network settings and then decides at some point to just remove it. In fact it emptied the ...

Installer modifes timestamp on backups

Last time I complained about how the install wiped out my home directory. This time (with 3.3) I noticed that the date of all the directories in home were changed to the time of the upgrade (from 2.6). All subdirectories under it now carry the timestamp of when the upgrade was done. I'm wondering wh...

Where IS the compatible video card list?

I got a friend who installed 3.26 on his computer but graphics is processing slooowly. CPU is not busy, looks like video card issues. His card is a Radion X800 with a AMD 4800+ and 2G RAM.

Spell checking in KMail & other annoyances

Oddly enough I'm missing spell checking in KMail. I'm running 3.26 but never had spell check working since the install. Adding some packets handled OpenOffice but KMail is still in the dark. It says ISpell/Aspell could not be started. I can't be the only one with this anomaly. I'd sort of expect thi...

Thanks Dave, that did it. Odd it was not done already coming from the latest DVD. I got a couple installs that were crippled the same way.
