Re: sabayon-weekly packages.db modification time

However, is there a commitment that this will be fixed (or even a timescale?), or is all development work going into the new OS? Now we've got a clear statement: Sabayon project is rebranding to MocaccinoOS Sabayon users will keep receiving updates on the sabayonlinux.org repositories, but the saba...

Re: sabayon-weekly packages.db modification time

I think we are sill on topic ;) Not sure if weekly gets bumped at all, so the only option now is move to main. As the devs have confirmed, Mocaccino is the future of Sabayon. And it' supposed to come rather quickly. If we are lucky, Sabayon will get security updates for a short while. We can migrate...

Re: Italian Mirrors seems offline.

From mocaccino slack channel: As I see it, mocaccinoOS is the successor of Sabayon. Same people working on it, based on a modern infra and a new PackageManager. The plans for Sabayon are: We are going to let users migrate into mocaccinoOS. At some point Entropy repos will get frozen and MAYBE only g...

Re: Italian Mirrors seems offline.

It's being discussed here already: sabayon-weekly packages.db modification time We moved some things around in infra and currently are not able to bump weekly-repo (take a snapshot from sabayonlinux.org repo) We know about this issue and are investigating how to fix it. …if you DO want to update to ...

Re: sabayon-weekly packages.db modification time

Try the "manual" approach as described in the wiki: enabling a different repository or mirror

Code: Select all

# cd /etc/entropy/repositories.conf.d
# mv entropy_sabayonlinux.org.example entropy_sabayonlinux.org
# equo update

Re: Error launching Inkscape

Same error, the library might be part of another package? It' the right one # for i in "$(find / -name libgdl-3.so.5 2>0)"; do equo q belongs -vq "${i}"; done dev-libs/gdl-3.28.0 I would try to run inkscape with strace and check where it is looking for the library. Then create a symlink to the avai...

It's not considered best practice running your system as root.
You can always

Code: Select all

su
to become root if needed.

Re: F-Prot or Sophos on Sabayon?

There are some other commercial offerings for Linux, f.ex. by Eset, F-Secure and Bitdefender.
But still I would prefer ClamAV.
