Re: Any video issues lately?

In the System Settings> Screen> Providing Effects application, uncheck the Allow applications to block the mode with graphic effects option. This may affect performance. I am using nvidia-334 from the xorg edgers package but I have tried others as well and this is the same problem.

Depends on your hardware. I have a pentium-M 1.73 and I still think it takes a lot of time. If your computer does the job you want to get done there is no need to update every single day, just update one time per onth or so. But get ready for massive compiling. One day or so

In order to use emerge is better to have internet where you are using your computer, and get networking working on sabayon. Probably emerge wants to download the file and you cannot retrieve the file since you are not connected.

What do you want to do and what command did you enter? Sabayon is gentoo, and so does not use rpm or deb. I uses emerge to compile programs from source.

Everything is though for KNetworkManager. As far as I know, if you set static IPs to interfaces you will break the network manager so you won´t be able to connect to encrypted wifi and so on (unless you do it manually with cmmands).

More than the MB to download is the time it will take to compile all that stuff. you can use emerge with --fetchonly to download the MB and later do the same command without --fecthonly so it installs with no internet connection, and leave the computer compiling all night. If you computer does the j...
