Re: Static IP and Networkmanager

Did a removal of the networkmanager and installed wicd.
(strangly it again installs a dhcp daemon)

I set a static IP, did a reboot and now I'm all into Sabayon, an d will let the prospect Windows converts experience a steady and responsive Gnome Desktop!

Thanks

Re: Static IP and Networkmanager

"if your net is a commom ADSL netm dynamic IP, atributed via DHCP is much more easy to work."

I'm very sorry, but I don't understand wahat your point is here.
Or is it that you imlpy that DHCP is much easier and one should stick with that?

Static IP and Networkmanager [Solved]

What's the use of a "networkmanager" when it cannot hold and/or save a static IP for a following session. What does it manage anyway? When I see and read in the forums what one has to do to obtain and keep a static IP,(btw.none of those tips worked for me) I would not dare advising my customers to g...

Fonts

Re: GDM libGL.so.1 missing

Well, problem <partly> solved ! I did the reinstall of the X-server, as mentioned here, but to no avail. (mind you, during install there was a constant warning that ".usr/lib/Libtdb.so.1 is NOT a symlink") I looked into some X error logs and found no flaws whatsoever. The only error that ever occurr...

Re: GDM libGL.so.1 missing

Thanks for your answers. What I did was performing a text-based repair/reinstall, wich took about THREE hours. At least this resulted in regaining a desktop, albeith a very feeble one which crashes after 30 secs or so, or even faster when I try to start anything at all. The only thing I've changed f...

GDM libGL.so.1 missing

I'm new to Sabayon,(but not to Linux) and did a fresh install of v. 5.0 & Gnome. Everything worked well, (exept Nautilus which would not start) and I did the update as asked, and after 45 minutes or so I rebooted to have a fresh session. Oops, boot goes fine upto : "error while loading shared librar...
