If you are using kde, go to kmix and look for configure channels, checkmark speakers and make sure the volume is up. It might be similar to the sound system for gnome.

Its really amazing! This is ownage!! Im running KDE. I have KDM using as many effects as I like. I got the cube to work. However I cannot get the cylinder to work or a the sphere. Can anyone help me why it isn't working. I have set the keys properly. Im using a Intel GM4500 HD chipset. Some effects ...

Edit: For some reason, Sebayon supported my Intel audio from the beginning. I just needed to enable Speakers volume and headphones in Kmix.
