Re: Manual partitioning scheme support for Sabayon 7

Then a full ISO is the way to go. You have to remember, other than the CoreCDX and base spins used to create custom spins, Sabayon is meant to be an out of the box experience, meaning, every just works. What you want is a small initial ISO and then to download your whole system custom. You can do th...

Re: Manual partitioning scheme support for Sabayon 7

SpinBase is not a complete ISO, it's more of what you use with Molecule to build your perfect spin. That said, if you want a small CD sized ISO that is a good base to build on, you can use CoreCDX (make sure to remove 'gentoo=nox nox' from the boot line so that it doesn't boot into console mode) or ...

Re: Booting

Sabayon Linux: Awesome features the Awesome WM version 3.4.10. It is a super minimalist dynamic WM that is geared towards power users, developers, etc; NOT for "desktop" users. That said, if you are willing to read a little bit about how to use the WM, then you will find yourself loving the speed an...

Re: Manual partitioning scheme support for Sabayon 7

You were using SpinBase, it doesn't have the GUI installer that has all of the added features, rather, it has only the text installer that has limited features. Try one of the other images with a GUI and boot into the graphical installation, from there, you will see that there are many more install ...

Re: Awesome desktop

Awesome is not meant to be an "automagic" setup for anybody other than to get you a running desktop. If you need to start network manager, do this: press winkey (mod4) + 'r', a small run prompt will open on the wibox (top bar), type 'nm-applet' without quotes and then press enter. To open a terminal...

Re: Looking for Derivatives

I should hopefully have an Awesome spin up in a day or two. I'm working out a few bugs in my .spec files and scripts. Once I can get it to boot properly into Awesome and start the installer, we'll be golden. Then I can work on giving it a default menu that actually lists the installer.

Re: ? kwin /ati problem after upgrade...

If you haven't done it already, use kernel-switcher to swap kernels, it should pull in the updated video drivers and build the modules for you for the latest kernel. If you're using the opensource ati/radeon drivers, your best bet is to stop now. Your HD6850 is the same hardware, just scaled down, a...
