Re: $COLUMNS aren't set
It is set in an interactive shell, that's the way it works
]; then # if interactive, then export COLUMNS=80 # workaround source ~/script.sh fi I would like to know is WHY it worked a while back (ma...

Re: $COLUMNS aren't set

Which typo? ^^ I know about tput but why use a programm when the Information should be in a global var? Plus the fact that not every Distro has tput onboard. So you have to catch that case and provide a fallback or just don't use tput and use the global. Sabayon is (as far as i know) the only Distro...

$COLUMNS aren't set

I know, it's not rly a problem. But before you can use anything like printf "%*s\n" $(((${#TEXT} + $COLUMNS)/2)) "$TEXT" to center some Text in your .bashrc, you must do an export COLUMNS Else the variable is unset/empty. AFTER the Terminal is loaded (or you're logged in and see your PS1) the COLUMN...

How to update from Sabayon 9 to 13?

Hi, on my old Laptop runs Sabayon 9. Ive never needed it for a long time until now. I just wanted to update to install some Software but i cant. Re: Sabayon Control Center

I know about Grub-Customizer. But at the stage ive discovered it it was far more easy to use tools from the repo ... And there is something more about the 'installation'. I've build it on a 64Bit system and forget to include the make step for the OpenRC placeholder under /Modules/OpenRC. So you have...
