Re: [Input Needed] Sabayon 5 Brainstorm

Hello creatives! Obviously we are plodding along with our 4.x releases for a while yet, but I want to hear / see what you guys are looking for in the future iterations of everyones favorite Gentoo based distro? Personally for gnome, I would like a dock and conky as default with a funky wallpaper of...

Re: ExtremeTech - Sabayon 4.1 G Review

Re: Latest update breaks dolphin and konqueror in root.

kdesu dbus-launch dolphin How about this? https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=165268 I wonder why not everybody suffers from this bug... Yes, that command works perfect. However, trying to run vanilla kdesu dolphin still doesn't work afterwards. I can live with kdesu dbus-launch dolphin until the ...

Re: Latest update breaks dolphin and konqueror in root.

i'd try to remove rm -rf /root/.kde4.2/ If root now again would use kde, it will regenerate this folder out of skel. Lets see if that fixes it maybe. I tried this: $su *password* #rm -rf /root/.kde4.2/ I opened a new terminal $kdesu dolphin I got the same error. Nepomuk and strigi are also disabled...

Re: Latest update breaks dolphin and konqueror in root.

Out of curiosity, do you have semantic desktop enabled? Can you try disable Nepomuk and strigi? Yes I do have it enabled. I just disabled it, and reseted the computer to see if this was the problem. However, the problem still remains. The only remedy that I have at the moment is opening kate in sup...

Re: Latest update breaks dolphin and konqueror in root.

I use sudo only because root doesn't find many commands. For example: $su #*password* #dolphin #bash: dolphin: command not found Therefore, I'm forced to: #sudo dolphin I use sudo while I'm in root mode to run the commands that root won't find on its own. The advantage of sudo over kdesu is that if ...
