Re: Another Sabayon upgrade mess...

Some advices for you Sisko43 : 1) Firstly understand the individualist theory : I, as a human, must solve my own problems in any ways possible and must learn everything that is at hand to solve them in the right, objective (straight to the point) and justfully way possible. What you've wrote up the...

Re: Another Sabayon upgrade mess...

Well said. There is nothing more to add! My concern for this distro driving away from the stable path was the motivation to start this thread.

Re: Discussion About Upgrade Complaints

That sounds all little bit strange what you wrote here. Sorry guys but stop blaming Sabayon and take responsibility for messing up your own system. Stop treating your production box like a test box! I don't treat my system like a test box. The Updates transform it to such a thing. Therefore it's not...

Re: Another Sabayon upgrade mess...

As much as I love Sabayon, I too was forced to quit earlier this year when a raft of updates completely broke my system. I've just started using Sabayon again recently and today is the first day I've been notified of a huge bunch of updates; the first thing I did was come to the forum to see if the...

Re: Another Sabayon upgrade mess...

They have all the tools in place, I love the idea of the weekly repos, main, limbo. Great ideas from great people. The team is excellent, just seems their is no communication or organization. I think this sums it up very good. A while ago I read a review about Sabayon 6 with this final thoughts: .....

Another Sabayon upgrade mess...

So once again in a short while a major upgrade in Sabayon breaks several things in the installation. :( What have we this time: - Firefox not working - Chromium not working - Libreoffice not working - XBMC not working - Gnome 3.2.1 seg-faulting randomly - Maybe there's more, I wouldn't be surprised....

Re: How to emerge an ebuild?

Have you put the ebuild in the directory-tree: "/usr/local/portage/gnome-extra/gnome-shell-extensions-gpaste/" ?

Works here for me.

Execute the command in the "gnome-shell-extensions-gpaste"-Folder and NOT with sudo. Become root via su...

Re: How to emerge an ebuild?

You have to follow the strict folder-rules of portage. When you take a look on the site you mentioned you see a specific directory structure. You have to follow that. In your case this would mean you have to create in "/usr/local/portage" the folder "gnome-extra". In gnome-extra-folder, you create t...

Re: Strange sound issue in VLC after pulseaudio upgrade to 1

I would check the separate sound channel settings via alsamixer while vlc in usage. Furthermore check the settings in the Pulseaudio Control Panel aka "pavucontrol". equo install pavucontrol Most likely after last update your volume settings have been set back to a lower default level. Or maybe some...
