mysql and latin1_swedich_ci

Hello,

I see that the latin1_swedish_ci is not include ? because in my serveur in real the 'é' appear good and in sabayon, all my script when i use the 'é' caracters, it replace by '?'. I use PHP and the utf8_encode/utf8_decode).

Hello,

But now i have installed php, apache, mysql, configure all and it works fine but in my scripts, I use simpleXML ans it thell me the fonction it not installed. When I can configure it ?

Please spend some time on our wiki learning the package managers http://wiki.sabayonlinux.org/index.php?title=Entropy Okay ;) sorry for this post but I am new. But it is normal that the sytem take 8go of disk ? I test it into virtualbox first... Because another distribution take only 3go ... Thanks

Installation on sabayon is a little bit slower than Debian or Ubuntu, but 3 hours for 10 packages is much slower than normal for Sabayon. Did you use equo? How fast is your connection? What packages did you install? Mike Helo, I use emerge <installpackkage>. I want to install : apache, php, mysql, ...

Installing Software

Hello,

I would like to know if any software installation always long? I mean it should compile and install what put me to install 10 package, about 3 hours? There is a way to have the program installed faster?

Hello, Now I want to change DocumentRoot because I prefere that it be in : /var/www/htdocs directly and not into /var/www/localhost/htdocs. Where is the configutration file ? I see the httpd.conf but i don't see the line of DocumentRoot... Thanks for help. :) EDIT : I found the file : it was in /etc...

When you configured it to start automatically, did you add it to the 'boot' run-level, or the 'default' run-level. You can run the command 'rc-update show' to confirm your current settings. I thing apache needs to be at the 'default' run-level, and not the 'boot' run level. It in 'default' run-leve...

apache2: Could not reliably determine the server's fully qualified domain name, using 127.0.0.1 for ServerName That's normal. After running that command, run: /etc/init.d/apache2 status to confirm it didn't start. Check /var/log/apache2/error_log to see if there are additional error messages there....
