Hmm in IRC I've heard people say there is a problem with Linux 4.9 kernel and Intel GPU in some cases.
A newer 4.9 kernel will be available soon, hopefully fixes your issue.

I want to update my system, but realized that the system don't has the link from /var/run to /run. Do I still need to delete /var/run and create the symlink? The problem seems to be on older installs that do not have /var/run as a symlink to /run Can you post the output of: ls -l /var/ | grep run Should look like this: lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 4 Sep 7 2017 run -> /run If you don't see a symlink here, you need to remove /var/run and after this create a syml...

fglrx kernel module was dropped from Entropy years ago. Not sure what you did to your system but I guess you created this mess yourself?
(Mixing Portage and Entropy?)

...and install latest binutils from Entropy and remove all the old C++ v11 incompatible compilers. (all versions lower then 6)
