I also use the PSC 2175 -- works good I've noticed that on the new hplip driver that you no longer have to /etc/init.d/hplip start - or - rc-update -a hplip default I just downgraded to one that you still have to do the above because I also was having trouble with the scanner plus the older driver w...

I just got vmware-server working on my system today and installed windowsXP in it. What I did was layman -d vmware and installed vmware-server from portage. Vmmon wouldn't compile, but I ran module-rebuild rebuild and it rebuilt vmware modules. Then I ran config.pl and everything was fine. Hope that...

There is an old problem with vmware like this. It's a nonconfig.pl or something. You can do a search on google or just look in /opt/vmware/ or maybe /etc/vmware/ for a file with nothing on it and I believe its called nonconfig.???
Once you find it just delete it.

I don't know what a "i810" driver is but if you use a generic driver then you can comment out the ViewPort commands and uncomment the mode commands. Then enter your resoution in the mode line at Subsection "Display" 24. It's probably better to just leave ViewPort commands alone and emerge the correc...
