KDE task manager icons shrink in height as time passes

Hi all; When I first run the system, the icons in task manager (window icon plus name of app) are the height of the panel. After some time of usage, all of a sudden, the icons shrink in height. If you leave the system on for long enough and use it for long enough, the height shrinks to even less tha...

Re: "KDE Plasma Workspace" shows twice in "Sessions" [Solved

Oh and by the way, it also seems to have cured the multiple-boot-until-KDE-starts problem as well. Since I did this, KDE has fired up each and every time (at least so far, knock on plastic.)

Simple packet forwarding not working.

Hi everyone. I have a very simple experiment set up that for some reason isn't forwarding packets. Here's the scenario: On a subnet, say 192.168.10.0/24, I have several PCs. They can ping each other, and through a firewall (192.168.10.1) they can access the Internet. Now, I take one of these machine...

"KDE Plasma Workspace" shows twice in "Sessions" [Solved]

Hi - this may have something to do with the fact that I have to reboot my laptop several times for KDE to start up. On the login screen, when you select "Sessions", the entry "KDE Plasma Workspace" shows up twice in a row, before being followed by "KDE Plasma Workspace (failsafe session)." How do I ...

Re: KDE needs multiple reboots to start normally

Ah. In that case, I might wait for a system update before modifying anything else.

Re: KDE needs multiple reboots to start normally

I don't think it's a hardware issue, as I also have Gnome installed, and it fires up reliably each and every time I boot up the machine. It's only KDE that requires repeated slapping! I can't find any packages called mcelog, but anyway, here's the output of Xorg.0.log, taken just after the system st...
