Re: The agony and ecstasy of a separate /home partition

I'm not sure if more is being added to this post or not. I was reading everyone's comments and I think each one has great reasons and made good points because I suppose it depends on what you are using your environment for and so on. Personally I do have a separate partition for my /home which I mad...

Re: Upgrade Sabayon without booting off liveDVD

Maybe you already found the answer to this. I believe that is normal output, stating what the "device" is for that mount point verifying that it was sucessfully mounted. I could be mistaken because I'm not in front of my home machine right now to verify. I know that I mounted the ISO in the past fol...

Re: Config Files - An Introduction

This goes to show you the quality that is being put into Sabayon. This post is great. I'm somewhat of a newbie but all this great documentation (Gentoo handbook, Sabayon wiki, Sabayon forum..etc) is by far the best I've seen.

Re: portage vs entropy

I simply wanted to add to this discussion that I just read the announcement on the planet.sabayon forum regarding the upcoming new updates to entropy and spritz.. I can't wait and all I have to say is Sabayon is one of the best Distros I ran into. Ironically I've been reading more on Entropy in addi...

Re: Sabayon Linux x86/x86-64 3.5 Loop 2: Beta Release

Any future plans for including an LIRC setup wizard (gui frontend),not to be confused with client frontends such as IRKICK. I am aware of compiling LIRC, it's just if your setting up a new machine it would be nice for a quick and simple setup out of the box, at least for the most common LIRC devices...

Re: Xine VTS Error

Does anyone have any update regarding this. I am getting this same error for movie Rendition. It plays flawless during previews then "BAM!" there goes the cool pop up. At first I thought it had to do with my permissions or the mounting.

Sabayon Logo... [Solved]

Ok I am a newbie to Sabayon. I was curious about the logo. What is the relationship between the logo and Sabaglione? (is it a T-Rex foot or Chicken foot?) Just curious.. Either way I dig the name and logo and of course the Distro itself. 8)

Sabayon Release Schedule? [Solved]

I just had a general question whether there is a calendar posted with proposed or project schedules for Sabayon. I was just curious when a final release of 3.5 might be. I could not locate this on the site, though I could have overlooked it. I really am digging this distro... 8)

Re: Upgrade Sabayon without booting off liveDVD

I really appreciate your instructions for installing without burning the ISO. I will try this. I burned the miniedition which I believe is 34f and I did come accross the issue with a couple of blocking, one of them being portage which I believe cannot be good. As I stated I will attempt the partitio...
