Re: Do you have any Entropy Store/Sulfur UI Redesign Suggest

I would find it useful if there were a preview or screenshot of the selected program. I run across all these beautiful desktop captures and wonder..."WOW... I wish I knew what app/widget/utility, etc... that is". A visual hint would keep me from randomly installing stuff thinking "That's the one", ...

Re: Do you have any Entropy Store/Sulfur UI Redesign Suggest

Greetings, I find the selecting of packages to be unwieldy and time consuming. I'd like to see something along the line of you click once on a package, and *poof* a check-mark/box turns green/package is selected for install. Only if the package has other packages that it pulls in does it/should it m...

Re: KDE how to switch off Compiz ??

Greetings, I simply have the setting checked in KWin that disables effects for full screen applications and run wine programs full screen. Doing so automagically disables the kwin compositing effects. If I recall correctly there is a similar option to do the same in Compiz. Another idea is that you ...

Re: smooth-tasks

Greetings,

Fitzcarraldo, I have those previews working in smooth tasks. I wonder, do you have desktop effects enabled and/or the thumbnails effect enabled? And if so, which thumbnail style are you using for smooth tasks? New? classic? etc..

Re: Desktops - Show Off Your Desktop

Clear and lookin' pretty http://ompldr.org/tYThraA Here you see my desktop doing nothing but just itching to be used. The only visible panel is the main panel on top, which houses the kickoff menu, a space...

Re: What Kind of OS setup do you have?

Greetings, On my desktop, at this very moment in time a new and fresh Sabayon 6 KDE. Had to give it a try today, last time I used Sabayon full time was around the time of 3.5 transitioning to 4 (when the background and stuff was red, the DE was KDE 3.5, Spritz was the experimental package manager na...

Re: Welcome to the Four-Point-Oh Portal

About the site: It is looking great! Very nice design! About the KDE discussion: Um, 4.1.3 does not have everything that 3.5.10 has, and 3.5.10 does not have things that 4.1.3 have. I find the experience better in 4.1.3 than 3.5.10 but I suppose that is a preference thing. I have been playing with 4...

Re: Easy Steps: how I got wireless working with Realtek 8187b

Really? I got it working on my wife's laptop. I haven't modified the steps though as I didn't ahve to do anything with he update to 3.5 stable. One thing that I have learned is that ndiswrapper module is listed in modules.d. I am assuming here that it created that module for ndiswrapper with the upg...

Re: KDE Dev Quits - Poll

Well right now I plan to stick with 3.5. It is simply more stable, and provides the massive customizability that I crave. However this does not mean that in the future I won't try KDE4. I have been watching it's developement, and am intrigued by some of the new progress made for KDE 4.1. So once it ...

Re: Live CD won't boot!

Try going into root on the live dvd. The password I believe is root.

Then run nano /etc/X11/xorg.conf

And change the device to vesa.

That is what I had to do after the install, so maybe the same solution will help you with the live dvd.
