Re: stunning

Wow, I started to feel sympathetic for the guy until I read the conversation(s) that went on :D . I am fairly new to Linux myself, and I'll be honest that at times the chat rooms aren't the most noob friendly environments to be in; but you got to consider the fact that many "noobs" come into the cha...

Re: Sabayon 3.5 Feature requests/ideas

Well, I agree it isnt exactly the best looking at the moment, but that could probably change in future releases. Oh well, nothing really big, just thought I would throw the idea out there, kinda got shot down pretty bad though :P

Re: Sabayon 3.5 Feature requests/ideas

Well, just a few moments ago I stumbled upon the "Looking Glass" 3D desktop environment. From what I've read, its made by SunJava specifically for the open-source community. Personally, I think it looks nice and it would be great if added to the Sabayon 3.5 DVD. http://www.sun.com/software/images/pr...

Re: Ron Paul

This year is going to be my first year voting, and my family usually votes Democratic, but Ron Paul is the only Republican I would vote for...not just because he wants to end the War on Drugs, but because he is the only candidate who I believe can change the USA for the better. But sadly, he probabl...

Re: Sabayon 3.5 Feature requests/ideas

Since I am still new to SL, and Linux in general, of course I would love to have as many useful OOTB applications/drivers as possible in 3.5. Its odd, SL 1.1 Pro detected my network and Belkin USB Adapter(rt73) OOTB, but 3.4F failed to do that, hopefully that is corrected in 3.5. Also, if possible, ...

Re: Wifi Internet worked in SL 1.1 Pro, not in 3.4F

Well I kind of get the concept that you use cd to change directories, just using cd will take you into your home directory, but past that, I don't know much else. I guess I should spend some time looking over all the commands and becoming familiar with them, my brother was in a rush to get internet ...

Re: Wifi Internet worked in SL 1.1 Pro, not in 3.4F

When I tried Step 5, it gave me that "no such file or directory error". Anyways, my brother was getting impatient so I resorted to installing 1.1 Pro again. I still don't understand how eth0, and wlan options were available in the Networking portion of the 1.1 installation while in the 3.4F only eth...

Re: Wifi Internet worked in SL 1.1 Pro, not in 3.4F

alright, so I dont have to extract w/ the command line? Right now the tar file is on my desktop, so I should put it in my home then? Alright, well, I'll try and see what happens. The only thing Im confused about is the cd command thing and changing directories, but I'll read up and hopefully get it ...

Wifi Internet worked in SL 1.1 Pro, not in 3.4F

Hello everyone, I have run into a strange problem. I previously had installed SL 1.1 Professional on my brother's pc as a temporary OS while I downloaded 3.4F. When I was installin 1.1, the light on my Belkin USB Adapter was on and it detected my network instantly. However, this is not the case w/ 3...
