Re: Desura client and segfaults (why/a fix)

Thanks for the tip. Disabling OpenGL support and recompiling Cairo fixed the problem for me, too.

Advantages of combining Portage and Entropy

[I understand that this could possibly go in either of the package management systems' sub-forums, but as this is about a broader hypothesis rather than a specific technical question, this seemed the most appropriate place to put the thread. My apologies to the mod stuck cleaning up after me in the ...

A very impressed returning member of the Sabayon community

I used to use Sabayon back in the 3.x days and somewhat earlier, but it was eventually rotated out of my life through distro-hopping, new computers, etc. Still, I've always kept an eye on Sabayon, since it seems to seek to directly address the biggest setbacks of Gentoo, which is a project I always ...

I'm not totally sure, but to me that looks like you're just missing the kernel sources. Try this, as root emerge =sabayon-sources-2.6.20-r3 And then try again. Don't worry, if I'm wrong, no damage done (just a few more megs of space taken up!). EDIT: Also (if this doesn't do it) check the INSTALL fi...

I think that while init works, there's no reason to update until there's something really phenomenal and mature.

emerge ndiswrapper doesn't work because I don't have access to the internet on Sabayon, which is the reason I'm installing ndiswrapper. I'm using it to install the driver for my WG111V2 dongle. If you can download the driver to make it yourself, you can just download it on another computer, copy it...

Please sign me up! I'm not sure how much time I have at the moment, but once school starts (and this job ends) I'll probably have plenty of time. A little background: I started using Linux when I inherited a laptop with broken power management features (BIOS issue) that Windows phailed on. From my f...
