Interesting... my SL 4.0-r1 installation upgraded to SL 4.2 did not have the Menu Editor option, so I had to type kmenuedit and later added it to the Menu using itself (if that makes sense). But I have this evening done a fresh install of SL 4.1 KDE (due to too many interaction problems between KDE 3.5.10 and KDE 4.2); I have just looked and, indeed, Menu Editor is there as an option. So, piece of cake.
It is interesting because my installation is a fully updated 4.0-r1! (I couldn't get sound to work on Thunderbird with 4.1 K).
I use the "classic" menu - I wonder if that made a difference.
