how to install mahjong or similar [Solved]

A right click on the "K" should give you the menu editor option.

Interesting... my SL 4.0-r1 installation upgraded to SL 4.2 did not have the Menu Editor option, so I had to type kmenuedit and later added it to the Menu using itself (if that makes sense). But I have this evening done a fresh install of SL 4.1 KDE (due to too many interaction problems between KDE 3.5.10 and KDE 4.2); I have just looked and, indeed, Menu Editor is there as an option. So, piece of cake.

It is interesting because my installation is a fully updated 4.0-r1! (I couldn't get sound to work on Thunderbird with 4.1 K).
I use the "classic" menu - I wonder if that made a difference.

I found "kmenuedit" with menu > search, and found "new > link to application" on the desktop.
The kmenuedit has successfully moved mahjongg3d and xmahjongg to the menu.

Kmahjongg did appear to install, as it took more time than the other two applications.

I had downloaded a mahjong to desktop a few days ago, that hasn't opened.
Maybe by doing that it messed up the installation? Neither location of kmahjongg is opening.

A right click on the "K" should give you the menu editor option. From there you can add items. However, I think it may be a good idea to update the other 571 packages first (make sure you read this thread fully first: viewtopic.php?f=76&t=16399 )
You may also find that running kappfinder will add the missing games to your menu.

I've not found the "K."
Kappfinder is neat, though it didn't find the 3 games.

Sorry, I should have made it clear, the "K" is the KDE equivalent of the Windows "Start" button. Sometimes it's branded so doesn't show as just "K". Bottom left hand corner of your screen is the usual place to find it.

It turns out that mahjongg3d and xmahjongg are too basic for what I'm looking for.

Any more suggestions to get kmahjongg working are much appreciated.

My fault. I put a typo in.
