setting up a Network file server at work...5 or more users

Yeah, I have no good idea, and I'm not finding it on the forums, I'll search the wiki next, but I don't know how, is there a good resource for this?
Dual boot XP/Sabayon64bit
amd64 4200+ x2
GeForce 7900GS 256MB

What I'm assuming is I just install the core and then use Samba as the server for the network......but I've never done it before and without testing it on my home network I'm not sure if it will work, and I don't have 5 users at home, I only have three.

The only advice I can give is to google setup server
Desktop ASUS M2N-MX SE Plus, AMD 64 X2 Dual Core 5200, 4 Gb RAM, GeForce 9500 1GB

Are things really that different with 3 or 5 users? Is there something that might work with 3 users, but not with 5?
