no X after todays update [Solved]

pepe999 have you updated again since you got your system working (at time of this post repository is revision 1109)
Would be nice to find out if your system will work with the 180.60r1 or if you would have to downgrade to the 180.53

In the morning I upgraded Equo etc and kernel, nvidia driver wasn't in updates. Half an hour ago I tried to update system again(notification applet seems to be missing) and found out there are new Equo and Sulfur again and nvidia driver 180.60r1. All packages are updated and everything is fine...

Ok, i found the issue. I ask you all to update to Entropy 0.96.21 as soon as it is available.

Sorry, that I am back so late.
Running "depmod" did the trick for me. Everything is normal again. Thank you KellogsFrosties.
I see there are new packages available In entropy. Thanks lxnay. I will try them now

I had this problem aswell. Last night around midnight, I did:

equo update
equo world --ask

I noticed one thing: There was an update for the kernel and ati drivers, but no nvidia drivers were yet available for update last night. So when I rebooted this morning, X would not start. I did another update, and saw the nvidia drivers, so I installed them and it didn't work either. I ended up having to reformat my hd and re-install sabayon, because I have no other means of getting on the internet, so I could not ask for help. Wish I had seen this thread before.

Have a look at this link, if you create a backup before major system changes then you will never have to reinstall unless you want a clean install of latest release
