creating Live USB

Postby jhoffman » Wed Jun 10, 2009 20:25

I have downloaded the iso for Sabayon 4.1 and want to put it on a 8GB USB drive

I have not found anything that tells me how to do this exactly and am unsure of the procedure. I have done this with other distros with very little problem. I have backtrack on a usb drive and to do that I just had to exstract the content of the iso to the usb drive and then run a .bat to make it bootable. Changed my bios settings and that was it.

Any insight ?

I have also created usb boot-able by following the instructions from SystemRescueCD web site

Hope this helps

Follow the instructions (SystemRescueCd) for the Windows section to make the stick boot-able then finish off using the instructions from the previous link I gave you

http://www.sysresccd.org/Sysresccd-manu ... _USB-stick

It does work I just followed the instructions again and posted this, using Sabayon 4.1 KDE on a 4 gig stick

To extract the files from the iso image (using MS) recommend you use 7Zip, if don't have it here is a link

Have fun
