Help [Solved]

Postby williamj » Mon Jun 08, 2009 7:06

I tried once and submitted (save) my 'Topic' but when I came to look for it it was not there in the Beginners|Newbies Area. So I have to go through it again. Firstly I do not have Sabayon. I read a review of the OS and it sounded good.
Where can I find the Documentation on the OS? I hope it is not in HTML - just the worst form of HELP ever. Where do you start to learn about Sabayon when you first log in as a B|NA? I have looked but there are just reams of topics. I think a simple two page Introduction - 'The good guts on Sabayon for Beginners' right in the front of the Home page would be the go. How do you upgrade Sabayon? Is it through the package management or do you have to save your data and reinstall. Virtually every Linux OS organises its file system differently.

OK if I have missed the "This Way' arrows would someone please point me in the right direction? Thanks. Just out of interest I think someone should tell your spell checker how to spell Sabayon. I suspect the EN is US. PS I just see what I did wrong in the first place - I should have Submit-ted. I shall try that this time.

Thanks to Kodiakmax and GI_James for the 'This Way' arrows. Obviously 'Tis why' probably thinks he has an IQ of 140 and that Kodiakmax and GI_James are less gifted and understand that many other Linux OS have large Documentary data ready for the Newbie to read under the heading of Documentation. Oh well we can't all be 'Great Thinkers' or is 'tis' a 'Great Stinkers'. Tis a worry when you have such greatness as a leader. Maybe Tis should move to Texas and join GWB another great thinker.

Not an impressive way to start I would say.

OK as much as I tried I could not find the SOLVED box for marking this thread I could not. Would someone please mark it SOLVED.

You have to click edit on your first post and manually change the title - I will do this for you.

tis wasn't being a smartass btw, it's well known that linux distros have wikis for documentation and howtos and the links are at top of this forum, and on the main page, and even come within the distro menu. All I was doing was emphasizing the wiki is your friend as there really wasn't a need for another link. No need to be rude.
