Weird Glitch in WoW [Solved]

Postby LeSinge » Tue May 26, 2009 3:25

Alright, first of all I'd like to say that i am familiar with Linux, but no expert. I followed the instructing for installing and running wow. I fix the Config.WTF, I made sure i had direct rendering, i did the registry tweak, i did everything. Now, WoW runs fine, except when i go into an inn or a instance, then the whole thing goes bad. Letters disappear and these weird triangles start flashing across the screen, originating from the lower left side. I think the problem is or is related to

"Crashes From Indoor to Outdoor

If wow crashes each time your character moves from outdoors to indoors, even though the patch above was applied, then try disabling double buffering. Unchecking "Enable desktop double buffering" under the "Graphics" tab in winecfg. It has been reported that this solved the problem. -- This option is only for those with older versions of wine, the newest version has this feature removed.

Alternatively try using the linux minimap add-on, possible compatibility issue with XGL."

because i have an ATI gpu (ATI 3600 HD Radeon). However, the option has be removed from wine, and i have no idea what add on they are talking about. I cannot take a screen for some reason, but i will try to give as much help as possible. So far everything was great, except for this.

Wine and my drivers are up to date

Fixed the problem, kinda. After searching around the internet for two days, i found that all my problems seem related to the default minimap. closed that. Problem gone. Not a perfect fix, but at least i don't have to use windows anymore, at all.

Congrats! I wish all my games worked on Sabayon!
