KDE And Compiz 3d effects

Postby jmm » Wed May 20, 2009 22:19

Did the graphical install last night. Not the graphical 3d install.

Can someone direct me towards 3d settings I should use or get to maximize the Compiz 3d capabilities?

Also, downloaded gnome, what command would I use to get the KDE environment too? So, at login I can choose between KDE or Gnome.

Thanks for helping newbie.

To install a complete kde, as root: equo install kde-meta That'll install kde4 but you can also have kde3.5 if you want just installing it's kde-meta package.
About compiz, aside of installing the drivers for your graphics card in case they're not [properly] installed (please do it using our repository, not using binary packages from card vendor website) and running fusion-icon to play a bit with the options, there's not much to say.
