New Sabayon user here

Just wanted to introduce myself to the forum. I'm fairly new to Linux itself, though I'd say I'm at an intermediate skill level now. I currently use Mandriva 2009 & 2009.1on two home servers, my desktop, and until today, my laptop. I decided to try Sabayon 4.1 b/c I tried 4.0 on a VM and really liked the default look. When I read that 4.1 came with KDE 4.2.2, I immediately decided to try it out. So here I am!

I've tried many different distros (Ubunutu, Fedora, OpenSUSE, Mint, etc.) and none of them came close to dislodging me from Mandriva. Maybe Sabayon will be different? I usually don't get past 24 hours before reinstalling Mandriva after having tried a different distro, but so far I'm really liking Sabayon.

Hi there welcome here, I am sure you would enjoy your stay.

SL is actually very easy and coming for other linux distro's it is just a case of getting your head around some of the term or slightly different commands + gui packages installer but this should be a breeze for you.

Also check the beginners area as it has some helpful links and info as well and to make your life easy get Wolfden's firefox plug-in to get better search results in the forum.

The normal server admin things you already know like good house keeping / maintenance and scheduled updates and you should be in heaven here. Please feel free to help with questions / answers if you can and don't worry no one here should flame you for posting this is not some other distro's forums. LOL
