cannot execute binary image...

Hello friends...was trying to install qt on my desktop running sabayon linux 4.1 kde 4.2...here is the log..

so how should i execute the executable file...

What are you trying to do here? Install Qt?

Use the package manager:

(as root)

equo update
equo install qt

yep, the development files are packaged with in our distro. unlike some others where they split them up.

The point was you shouldnt need to execute it. Not using the package manager *WILL* break your system.

i tried every type of executable permission i could...but no use...i guess u may be right..that is the reason...so 350 mb of waste download...but still can anyone tell me how to make it executable...

Personally it executes fine on my system, even with the chmod u+x, but I use su instead of sudo.
Probably your download was corrupted?

However you shouldn't do it, I suggest you to do a simple bash script with echo something just
for testing, but do not install that thing just for experimentation.

ok..i also tried sudo...m a ubuntu user..so used to sudo...but it never worked..will install from package manger...
