Wireless and 4.1 KDE

Postby Splice » Fri May 08, 2009 20:22

I downloaded both livedvds for 4.1 and the Gnome version picked up my wireless card on my laptop quickly and I was on my way from there. For some reason the KDE version does not recognize the wireless or even the wired NIC in my laptop.. any suggestions besides use Gnome (not that I mind but to get my wife to use it she really liked the KDE version better).

wouldn't that require installing the application or does the LiveDVD create a temporary install layer to use for this purpose? I haven't really used any version of Linux since the Caldera 1.2 so the live cd/dvd is new to me.

I don't really want to use Virtual box on the laptop because of resource issues it has with any vm and my wife will not let me overwrite her precious Windows install until I can show her that it will work the way she wants which is why the LiveDVDs are great when they work.
