How to edit /etc file??? [Solved]

Postby nelson2006 » Mon May 04, 2009 18:52

Hello everybody :D ! This is the first time I've ever installed a Sabayon distro (Sabayon 4.1 Kde). I would like to know how can I edit the /etc file so I can add repositories?

Have you seen the instructions in the SL Wiki on how to do it? (http://wiki.sabayonlinux.org/index.php? ... positories)

Are you editing it as root user?

Code: Select all
$ su
Password:  <--- enter the password of the root user, not your username's password
#  <--- notice that the root user's prompt is a hash sign, not the dollar sign for normal users

Then type "nano" or "gedit" (without the quotes) as root user.
