open office hangs when I open any existing document. How do I correct it?

what version of open office, and what version of KDE or GNOME?
Some antique versions of OpenOffice, frequently crashes Plasma of KDE.

i encoutered a related bug in Gentoo Bugzilla.
try make as the post of Michel and more recent posts in:
http://bugs.gentoo.org/234198
Therefore, i made a serach in Google, aid the HPs have informations that this is a Bug of the OpenOffices versions 2 and 3...
