I'm afraid I don't completely understand your problem. On the one hand you indicate that you cannot boot any of your other live CD's and yet on the other, you are trying an installation which crashes when you are trying to install it, which would indicate that you are able to boot from a CD. If in fact you were able to boot another CD, your hardware installation of Sabayon would have nothing to do with it's X failure. Try some cheat codes with that distro. If on the other hand you are no longer able to boot any CD, I would look at my bios settings to make sure that the CD was in the hierarchy of boot options.
If you are trying to install another distro on top of Sabayon, well, make sure you format your partitions beforehand of course. You can boot from your Sabayon install CD and do that with gparted which is available right on the desktop. Most distros are not ready for the ext4 files system as yet, which may be what you're running into if the installation can't see the partitions, but I'm not sure what you're running into, so I gave you sort of a shotgun answer ;-)
