Thank you very much for your reply, Joe!
See if it happens while in a different session (KDE)
I tried that too, and the funny thing is that under XFCE my right-click works normally! I haven't tried in KDE (I personally don't like KDE) but I think I'll be using XFCE from now on, I just have to solve my network issues in XFCE (I don't know why but in GNOME my wireless internet starts as soon as I log in, but in XFCE doesn't, trying to find a way to turn it ON in XFCE).
You said a hard time to install the distro, try to find out why (you might have other hardware issues) you shouldn't have a problem installing as long as you have at least 3 partitions on your hdd (for your MS, Linux swap and Linux)
Check MD5 of your Sabayon 4 r-1 Live DVD
I checked and it's fine. I used a cheat code that stopped my installation to freeze everytime:
- Code: Select all
# noddc res=1440x900 refresh=60 opengl=nvidia
To tell you the truth, I'm having a really hard time with Linux. I don't know if it's because I'm a totally newbie, but I'm reading lots of guides and also the Gentoo Handbook, but I haven't succeeded to install anything. I tried to install Amarok (# emerge amarok
) but the files came masked, so I went after a code to install masked files and yet no success. I tried to install GAIM (# emerge gaim
) cuz I read it's better than aMSN but no files were found.
I don't know what I'm missing, but I'll keep reading and Googling.
Thank you!Edit: Some very kind souls helped me on that "Get Live Help" bottom from the desktop! Now I'm using Spritz, things are working just fine to install now
Thank you all!
