New version of Portato installed and runs. Great.
i found Portato useful, also fo users that prefer command line.
is useful for install extra package, or if you dont know the complete name of the package, or even to easy manage FLAGS, unmask packages etc...
after installed, i updated GTK+ and pygtk, and used the Portato itself for update some other gtk related stuff.
good work! In the last times, Portato is now the best GUI for Portage, substituting the extinct Kuroo.
i tested Porthole, and also Himerge. The last is difficult to install and after their use, it
gave to me some problems in compilation of other packages via command line.
but i enjoy Portato. i use it in Sabayon and also in Gentoo.
im not a comp. professional. i1m Chemist.
im curious. Portato uses the autounmask command for unmask packages?

As with previous versions of Portato, if you install a particular version of a package, the version in the Versions window still does not show a green 'LED' next to it after it has been installed. You have to select another package in the Packages window, then reselect the package you have just installed in order to see a green 'LED' next to the version that has just been installed.

Furthermore, I used Portato 0.12.1 to install penguin-command 1.6.11 and there was no green 'LED' against the package name in the Packages column, whereas there was when I used Portato 0.12.1 to install missile 1.0.1. Then when I exited Portato and launched it again, there was a green 'LED' against the package name in the Packages column.

YAY :) - a new Portato release: 0.13
The changes are:
  • NEW: allow lines w/o keyword in package.keywords
  • NEW: added support for ktsuss as su-frontend (note: ktsuss does not reset the environment properly. the home directory of the user instead of root is used)
  • NEW: added man-page
  • NEW: honor EAPI-masking
  • NEW: overhaul plugin system (again): now allow plugins to add widgets
  • CHANGE: remove the deprecated -L cmdline option: use -F instead
  • CHANGE: move some UI-Elements to extra plugins
  • CHANGE: do not allow ":" to be an assignment operator in config files anymore. only "=" is allowed now.
  • I18N: pt_BR translation - thanks to Alberto Federman Neto

Currently this new release is not yet part of the portage tree. But I think this will change soon :)

@Fitzcarraldo: It still does not fix the your issue, sorry ;)

It installed it from their Overlay...
Working great, is faster than previous versions, also works both in pyhton 2.5 or 2.6, is working good, in all my sabayon installations and in my Gentoo-Funtoo also....
My translation file is also working...

I doubt it ;) - at least I haven't done anything to make it faster ... (though - honestly - I need to ... some processes are disturbingly slow)
