Very favourable comments on SL 4 in Linux Format, Issue 117

The latest issue of Linux Format magazine to hit the newsstand here is Issue 117 (April 2009 issue). There is an almost full page summary of Sabayon Linux 4, and the comments are all very favourable. For example:

Sabayon Linux has gone through many changes over the years, but the latest incarnation could mark the beginnings of something special. A slick new appearance lies on top of a superbly stable system, which enables the whole package to be favourably compared to Linux greats such as Fedora, OpenSUSE and Mandriva.

I have recently been trying the latest releases of Fedora, OpenSUSE and Mandriva, (in fact I'm typing this on a PC running OpenSUSE 11.1) and fully agree with the last sentence above. SL has been the Linux distribution on my main PC, used professionally and at home, for almost two years, and I have no intention of switching to anything else.

Thank you again to the small team of dedicated people who develop and maintain the distribution.

I see in a lot of reviews that the artwork is always mentioned with high reviews. I think we have finally found our colors. We've struggle so badly in that area and now it's looking polished with SL 4.

I can't see myself ever using something different either for a full time linux desktop. Entropy is making life good and we keep plugging along with the rest of the stuff. Our small team works good together business wise and personal wise.

My thanks to you all too - not just the developers but also everyone in the forums who help. I've just handed over my old PC to my girlfriend and she is delighted with Sabayon too

I caught a copy of Linux Format and read this review. Not that I disagree with it, but Sabayon's been steadily getting more and more stable since v3, let alone v4; I've been using Sabayon since version 2 and I can tell how much it's changed. That said, I love the way the art style has developed. It just keeps getting better and better.
