Prior to install - run update installer and ATI shouldn't be an issue. If you have already installed and having ATI issues than do the following as root
- Code: Select all
equo update
64 bit
- Code: Select all
rm -rf /usr/lib64/opengl/ati && equo install ati-drivers && eselect opengl set ati
32 bit
- Code: Select all
rm -rf /usr/lib32/opengl/ati && equo install ati-drivers && eselect opengl set ati
than you can either run the accel-manager and restart X or restart X and than select accel-manager from the login screen under sessions

Following the above Howto did not work for me. Same error failed to create lib32/libglx. Firefox Spritz, Googleearth did not start or work.
I was about to giveup on Sabayon4 and go back to 3.5.1 I installed the Ati drivers directly from Ati. Still getting some pixalation in googleearth but it works so does Firefox and Spritz. Guess the driver install whatever file that is missing

Hello! I have ATI card on Asus F6V notebook. Everything works fine, except for the video when Compiz is running the video starts to flicker a lot!

If you are using mplayer, set the output to xv (or try different ones, there is one that works fine with compiz).

Not sure how much this will have effect on fix / problem.
I ran equo libtest and afterwards equo deptest as well as equo world upgrade from 4.0, it did fix a few lib stuff for me but can not say if directly linked woth my nvidia working or not.
Maybe run equo libtest and equo deptest and see if any change or works better.
PS> does ATI have something similar to nvidia-conf that autoconfigures ATI cards / settings ?

i just do;
find / -name libglx.so
locate it, then rename/delete it, (because it is exist!)
then switching to ati again
may be be SL 4-r1 have the solution.
