Spritz always screws up

Postby thenthenio » Mon Oct 20, 2008 23:11

I have 2 SL3.5 PCs (a desktop and a portable), they both use X86_64 version, they show exactly the same behavior.
When I do any update, using Spritz, it always turn gray before or after, I think always during "cleaning up...", and I have to kill it.
Python is sucking 97% of CPU time doing nothing (even if you leave it there for a day.
No matter of what is the update going on, before completion it always hangs.
Any suggestions?

Thanks.

I have noticed similar behaviour (also x86-64) since the 2 recent updates (currently 0.22.1) and have stopped using it. As soon as I'm notified of an update I do equo world --ask and continue from there.

Yes you are right!
I did that and equo conf update and everything is OK now!
Thank you dunsurfin.
This means 2 things:
- Spritz doesn't usee equo.
- Spritz is still buggy.

Cheers.

Spritz uses the same functions as equo. (the entropy package has the functions)

And yes Spritz still can be buggy sometimes.

Ok.
After doing the impossible upgrade via Equo, now Spritz works again: today I had 3 updates to do, I tried to run Spritz and, incredible, it did it without hanging, not even after the end of the queue processing.
This was the very first time since I moved to 3.5 that Spritz did not hang at the end of an update!

I found anyway that something was still buggy: after finishing the update I did not quit Spritz and some time after, without doing anything with Spritz my PC became unusable, everything was dead slow, CTRL-ESC was not able to run the process table, even ia an existing root shell top was not even able to start, I realized there was still Spritz there, so I closed it clicking on the X of its window with a slow moving mouse.
Then the system was still ok!

Bye.
