equo *really* slow => Beagle problem [Solved]

Postby polytan » Sun Sep 07, 2008 19:00

Hi guys,

I'm really new to Sabayon Linux, but I've used Gentoo for years. On my new computer, I don't want to loose to much time compiling programs, so I installed Sabayon Linux.

My computer is an AMD 3400+@2.2Ghz with 512Mo memory

When I try to install a package with equo (or spritz, same problem) it takes me ages !

Example : time equo install equo => 9min32s

I don't think it is the normal behaviour.

Do you you why, or what I can do/modify/pray to make it a *bit* quicker ? :)

Thanks in advance,

Polytan

localhost max.bilh # hdparm -tT /dev/sda

/dev/sda:
Timing cached reads: 810 MB in 2.00 seconds = 404.48 MB/sec
Timing buffered disk reads: 50 MB in 3.12 seconds = 16.03 MB/sec
