However, I just want all zenana updates working on my three 3.5 installs, and so I'm glad to help...

Revision 81, same error of revision 80:

I'd like to help you too, but all my three PCs have 64bit support, so i prefer to install AMD64 version...

However, in rev 83 fake dependencies are fixed, I'm now downloading and installing... hoping no more checksum problems.
144 updates with a damn slow 640kbps connection... such a tragedy! -.-

ARGH!!
Many issues... :?
1) Using the GRUB entry for new kernel, X doesn't start. Trying startx, the response is that nvidia kernel module is unavailable (8600M GS).
2) Using old entry, KDE doesn't start. Same error of my old loop3 installation, see some pages back
3) Neither Gnome starts, it leads X to crash

I'm rolling back to a standard installation now re-installing sabayonlinux.org packages, using XFCE... :(

Uhmm... equo crashing... ok... but it crashes when it tries to unpack a .bz2... Is it possible that the package is broken?

possibly. You need to do a
Code: Select all
eselect kernel set 2
(to change the symlinks to the newer kernel)
and that would have solved it all without having to redownload a load of stuff :D

Which nvidia drivers are you running?

if that didnt work then
Code: Select all
emerge nvidia-drivers
to set up the nvidia drivers again.
