Portuguese translation! :)
Hi, I'm kind of new around here, it's been some weeks of intensive learning, and for that I already thank you guys.
So, now I think it's time for me to contribute with something. As you can see, english is not problem for me (I'm a Brazilian guy) and I thought that I would be able to translate portato to the two portugueses we have in Sabayon (Portugal and Brazil). It's very similar but we have differences, specially when it comes to IT. Even with the differences, I think I can do both translations for you, as I'm used with European Portuguese (have used some software with that, and also have lots of portuguese friends that might help me if I have any doubt).

I'm reading the translation post right now and as soon as I can I will be sending you the translations.
Any other translation you guys might need, count on me.

I'm running the english version of Sabayon, it seems to me that will not be a problem as mentioned on the translation article...
I usually use emerge commands instead of portato, and I'm still quite a newbie yet. But I'm not so newbie on dealing with codes and I'm quite experienced with translations from the english language, think I'll be able to do it.

Thank you all for this great distro!
Let's keep the hard-work!

Hey,

a new portato release is waiting at the horizon and will meet you in about two weeks :). The new features include:
  • portage-2.2 support  I think this is the most important one
  • completely reworked plugin system
  • possibility to send bugs directly per mail out of the application :)

This also means, that this is a good time to send translations, if you want to create them :)

portato-0.11_beta is ready. You may find it in my overlay :). If it looks stable until the end of the week, I'll release then. Then I'll also post the Changelog ;)

Portato-0.11.1 has been released

This is mainly a bugfix release: Portato should now also work correctly under portage-2.1.4.4 and with complex *DEPEND strings.

Additionally, it now creates a logfile ({i]~/.portato/portato.log[/i]), which is automatically attached to the "Send Bug"-Mail, if not disabled explicitly.

Short announcement: Portato-0.12 is near and likely to be released in about 2 weeks.

It is currently in beta stadium and can be found in my overly (layman -o http://portato.sf.net/layman.xml -a portato) - would be great, if some of you could take a look and perhaps find the one or the other bug to be squashed before release.

More translations is a thing, that I would appreciate much - and now is the right time to do them ;) (see http://portato.origo.ethz.ch/wiki/translating for instructions).

Most important changes: improve preference dialog, sqlite db support, bug fixes 8) -- AND: check prerequisites (which should work around Sabayon Bug #558)

Ladies and Gentlemen - here it is: Portato 0.12

These are the changes:
  • NEW: can use an SQLite DB as internal database

  • NEW: make uselist and deplist lazy - i.e. load only if needed
  • NEW: remembers the height and width of the preference window
  • NEW: check prerequisites before starting
  • NEW: add color buttons to the preferences, so the colors can be changed
  • I18N: added Spanish translation (thx to Daniel Halens)
  • CHANGE: reorganize preferences
  • CHANGE: improvements in session handling
  • CHANGE: move from libglade to GtkBuilder
  • FIX: fixed searching
  • FIX: bugs fixed: #44, #41, #15, #47 and several others

Check it out :)
